Every day, every moment, every thought, every situation in our lives we can take one of two ways. We can look at all the negatives, all the ways something is hurting us, all the ways it is inconveniencing us, and all the ways things could be better… OR we can change our perspective.
Perspective-a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Doing this is definitely easier said than done. But just like lifting weights, we adapt and GET BETTER at changing our perspective. A positive outlook on negative situations will change your life. It takes time, it takes practice, you won’t always be able to do it. But, give it a shot. Try to see the good in situations you would normally view as negative, look for what you can learn from something. Be PRESENT. Don’t think about the past or how something affected you previously because guess what?? YOU have the power to change your perspective at ANY moment. ANY TIME. I catch myself more times than I’d like to admit, seeing things negatively, mainly myself. I am very introspective and overly critical. So taking my own advise is hard sometimes but when I do I can tell you it is a LIFE changer. The immediate effects of a positive attitude will translate themselves into every other part of your day. The sun will seem a little brighter, you’ll have a little extra pep in your step, and you just might learn something. Take a chance at changing your perspective. Be positive. I promise you won’t regret it.
